I wanted to share the following quote:
Man thinks they are each alone in this world. It is not true. You are all connected. One act can one day affect all.

Also:
- I have a test coming up in Arabic in two hours. Didn't study due to personal problems. :O I am so nervous right now. Ash'ar bil anxiousness. (well, "I have feelings of" is at least something I know...).

- Went to Ameland two days ago. Pics can be found at: my blog

I need to be off in order to study.
At least I know the past tenses already, which is quite an improvement.

Dear People of the World.

As you might or might not have noticed, I have been kind of abandoning this livejournal lately.
I am here to announce that I quit writing this journal. I'd like to stress that I'm not quitting livejournal; I will still read the posts on my friendlist and comment and help out where I can. Please don't follow in my footsteps, keep updating, you people ;)
So.

This is a goodbye to my livejournal, but no goodbye to me. Dutch people who'd like to stay updated about my life might want to hop onto jitske.volkskrantblog.nl occassionaly.

As for how I've been doing lately; great. (: Life's been quite busy and I'm currently in the progress of translating my 588p. history book. Needless to say that I find the job quite boring. Furthermore my parents are moving - they bought a farm nearby Groningen meaning I get a room at their place too (handy ' cause my own room in Groningen is kind of stuffed) and they're probably getting a dog and a bunch of goats within a year - so yay for them and yay for me. Well, that's it for now. Maybe I'll be back some day with new updates when I have more time to spare.

For now I'd like to wish you all a very inspiring, happy and productive new year full of love and new experiences. Keep updating!

Okay, so the trainservice to and from Heerenveen - a place in the Dutch province of Friesland - apparantly has been disrupted for 3 hours yesterday because someone left a bag there, unattended. And the bag had - good heavens! - arabic writings on it. Reason to have the Explosives Removal Service get their asses overthere in order to properly examine it. The content of the bag turned out to be perfectly safe. But it did contain "equipment with buttons" - since they obviously didn't want to give any further information as to what kind of equipment, my guess is for a Gameboy.

I'm used to this kind of thing happening in Israel but... in Holland?

It's a silly world we live in, really. Kind of sad that stuff like this happens, now I come to think about it. If the bag had not contained arabic writing, would anybody have bothered, I wonder? Why can't we just trust one another?
On the other hand, you can't ignore people saying they find it suspicious - that'd be rude, that's just a matter of service. What if they had done nothing, and the bag WOULD have turned out to contain a bomb or anything similar?

Oh well.. I guess the person whom forgot the bag must have realised it by now, anyway. lol.
